Your day to day as a Service Technician Join our team at QC Supply as a Sales and Service Technician, where you'll be a vital member of our skilled professional workforce. In this role, you'll take on the responsibility of providing top-notch technical repair and service to our customers. Being a problem-solver is key, as you'll be performing maintenance and repairs on various systems within livestock and horticulture facilities. Adherence to bio-security regulations and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance are crucial for ensuring the health and safety of animals and staff. Strong technical acumen is necessary to interpret manuals, use technology for repairs, and maintain accurate records. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform maintenance and repairs on feed, water, ventilation and electronic systems within livestock and horticulture facilities Adhere to all bio-security rules & regulations-for the health and safety of the animals and staff Identify and perform preventative maintenance issues at customer sites to avoid future operational failures Participate with other team members in sharing after-hours/weekend on-call rotation Safely travel to work on equipment in the field as well as in QC branches Maintain high level of cleanliness and accountability of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment Assist with scheduling repair appointments with clients Read and interpret technical manuals/schematics and factory instructions Use computer and other technologies to investigate and repair equipment, maintain records of the repair and perform invoicing Complete service reports/timecards and order parts timely and accurately Ability to attend continuous education training Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree in industrial equipment technologies/mechanics/electrical trouble shooting or related field is preferred. Mechanical experience 2+ years preferred Electrical experience 2+ years preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be able to be on feet most of the day Valid driver's license with clean driving record PREFERRED SKILLS Highly motivated and fast learner Positive and outgoing communication skills Experience in safe operation of automated farm equipment Strong troubleshooting skills Ability to improvise and think outside the box Work well independently with limited supervision Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and electrical Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work in diverse and extreme weather conditions Our team needs you!
