Job Summary Provide guidance for others in investigative work and activities and delegate work, as needed. Assign cases to staff and manage assignments. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices for the Bureau/Department. Coordinate and oversee all investigations. Oversee the development and maintenance of investigation files and accurate data entry into the case management system. Prepare and deliver presentations and speeches to the public, Bureau/Department, and other organizations regarding department operations. Minimum Qualifications • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher and • Five (5) years in investigations or directly related experience • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. Candidates will be notified of how to submit required documents. *Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS • Skill in investigating confidential, sensitive, and highly complex investigations that require document review. • Willingness and ability to travel using own car, shuttles, buses, subways and/or trains is required. Frequent local travel is required. • Ability to conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, victims, and other agency representatives. • Knowledge of the principles and practices of chain of custody for physical evidence and the laws, rules, and regulations governing investigations. • Ability to review the work of staff and provide guidance. • Ability to communicate and articulate information regarding investigations, program reviews, and assessments to leadership, investigative agencies, and the general public. • Knowledge of related software, including case management systems. Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
