Due to our rapid growth, our success is directly dependent on attracting and retaining the best possible talent across our teams. To this end, we are posting for a strong Senior Industrial Engineer. This role will be based in our in Norwood, MA manufacturing facility with an occasional need to visit our Norton, MA distribution facility . OVERVIEW OF ROLE: The Senior Industrial Engineer will drive execution of cross functional process improvement projects by identifying continuous improvement opportunities for operations, analyzing data to get insights and quantifying business values that support the profitable and sustainable growth of the company. This role will champion a lean culture through the implementation of all continuous improvement projects, instilling Kaizen philosophies and building capability of the organization for true north (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Culture). This is a highly visible role within operation team with great future growth opportunities in the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Define and implement efficient and reliable processes for existing and new product to produce consistent quality output Gather and analyze data to get business insights and promote efficient manufacturing operations Identify and scope continuous improvement projects, using data to analyze ROI, prioritize and set quantitative goals that fulfill business objectives Plan, coordinate and execute process improvement initiatives by leveraging continuous improvement tools and methods (PDCA/DMAIC/A3, Kaizen, Gemba, 5S, 8W, Standard Work, Kanban, SMED, Labor Balancing, VSM, VM etc.) Collaborate with site operations leaders, middle and senior management team in developing, implementing, and executing a variety of strategic initiatives focused on scaling our business through expansion and lean operations Engage, empower, and encourage frontline team members to get buy-in and ownership for sustaining improvement initiatives Educate, coach, and mentor team members at all levels in the organization on principles of continuous improvement, lean management methods, total quality management and operational excellence. Identify capital improvement projects and coordinate with other disciplines (finance, maintenance, production) to advocate for funding to implement improvements. Support the planning and capex investment strategy for all HMF sites with validation of ROI. Lead cross-functional teams that includes production, warehouse, and maintenance organization in order to facilitate process improvements to improve plant performance. Continuously pursue self-improvement through seeking knowledge of new concepts, techniques and technologies related to industrial engineering, benchmarking other areas/departments/organizations for potential improvement ideas. Collaborate with leaders at multiple levels to deploy strategy and establish a lean management system. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering with 5+ years of business experiences Experiences with CI deployment in medium to large organization Hands-on people centric leadership approach in a manufacturing environment Experience with training, coaching, and mentoring both in a classroom and shop floor environment Experience with and can offer recommendations for improvement, such as increased throughputs, labor balancing, inventory reductions, and overall manufacturing cost reductions by eliminating non-value added activities Proven business acumen, effective communication skills, previous project leadership, demonstrated track record of execution with minimum supervision At a minimum Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Black Belt certification preferred. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and AutoCAD required Experience with data analytics, process monitoring systems and MES (manufacturing execution system) Experience in a food processing & manufacturing environment is a plus Experience with multi-cultural and multi-lingual workforce is a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The below physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have good vision and manual dexterity. Able to sit / stand for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
