Project Engineer - SolarLocation: Bloomington, MNOur client, a 100% employee-owned environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, and testing firm, is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join their Renewable Energy Team. With a primary focus on solar energy development, you'll play a crucial role in managing moderate to complex geotechnical projects. As an employee-owner, you'll contribute to their commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.Responsibilities:Scopes of Work and Proposals:Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering projects, primarily in the solar energy field.Create geotechnical engineering reports, offering professional opinions and practical solutions.Engineering Analyses:Perform engineering analyses using company and industry standards and methodology.Project Management:Manage routine to complex geotechnical engineering projects, including project scope, schedule, budget, and safety.Work independently on specific assignments with Senior review.Quality Assurance:Perform quality reviews of work by assigned staff.Identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues.Coordination and Collaboration:Coordinate field staff, share resources, and manage workloads with regional operations.Ensure specifications are followed by collaborating with Account Leaders, engineers, and project managers.Client Relationships:Work closely with Account Leaders and Senior Engineers to meet or exceed client expectations.Assist in developing business goals and objectives.Support client relationships to achieve wind market sector goals and strategies.Field Testing and Training:Perform various field testing and observations as needed.Assist field operations with technician training and review.Required Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Organizational and customer service abilities.Thrive in a time-critical and dynamic work environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).Budget management skills.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering field.Professional Engineer registration/licensure or ability to obtain within two years.5+ years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience (preferred but not required).Previous experience with large-scale construction projects (preferred).Valid driver's license.Ability to travel up to 15%.Join our team and contribute to shaping the future of solar energy development!
