Practice Area: Litigation - eDiscovery General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 5 Years, A law firm is seeking a Senior Discovery Attorney to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves collaborating with eMerge attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to develop and manage case-specific workflows and protocols for eDiscovery. The primary goals are risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility while focusing on identifying critical information for successful case outcomes. The Senior Discovery Attorney will oversee the quality of work and deliverables for associated eMerge Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborate with eMerge attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to create and manage eDiscovery workflows and protocols.Focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility in eDiscovery processes.Identify and prioritize information necessary for successful case outcomes.Oversee and ensure the quality of work and deliverables for eMerge Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.Ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in eDiscovery tasks.Advise and support case teams and clients on all discovery phases, from preservation through production.Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation.Communicate complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Utilize preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.Maintain fluency in eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.Utilize expertise with Relativity to manage eDiscovery processes.Requirements:Must be licensed and in good standing in the state.In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Fluency with preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.Experience advising and supporting case teams and clients on all discovery phases of each matter.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:License to practice law in good standing in the state.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational and project management abilities.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Proficiency in using eDiscovery tools and software, particularly Relativity.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Experience:5-7 years of experience in eDiscovery, with a focus on advising and supporting case teams and clients throughout all discovery phases.
