Northmarq is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong architectural knowledge to join the Information Technology department in the Minneapolis (Bloomington, MN) headquarters office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures. The individual should be proficient in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, and Azure Git, and possess a strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling. Position Responsibilities: Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and other relevant tools. Ensure data is processed, transformed, and loaded efficiently to support business intelligence and analytics needs. Data Architecture: Architect and implement data solutions that meet business requirements and industry best practices. Work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and design appropriate data models and storage solutions. Data Warehousing: Design and manage data warehousing solutions using Snowflake and other relevant technologies. Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and cost-efficiency. Business Intelligence: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide actionable insights to business users. Collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver high-quality BI solutions. Version Control and Collaboration: Utilize Azure Git for version control, code management, and collaboration. Ensure proper documentation and versioning of all data-related processes and code. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data processes for performance, reliability, and scalability. Implement best practices for data security and compliance. Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance and support. Lead data engineering projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on data architecture and pipeline development. Proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, and Azure Git. Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and familiarity with other cloud services. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with additional data tools and technologies such as Apache Spark or similar. Knowledge of machine learning and data science practices. Certification in Azure or related technologies.
