SENIOR ACCOUNTANTJob Description Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance department. ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.**This position is fully on-site at Empirical System's Aerospace in San Luis Obispo, CAEssential Duties and Responsibilities:• Prepare journal entries during month end and annual close, on complex and sensitive areas in line with U.S. GAAP• Support Accounting Manager and CFO in analyzing the data that goes into a financial statements and management reports to make sure it is true and fair.• Support CFO & Accounting Manager to ensure timely and accurate month-end and annual accounting close.• Prepare schedules, workpapers and other documentation in support of the annual financial audit, tax returns, and other audits & compliance activities.• Monitor adherence with internal controls.• Implement and maintain consistent accounting policies in compliance with U.S. GAAP.• Supervise, coach, and develop junior members of staff within the finance department.• Coordinate with other departments (e.g. operations) as necessary to ensure accuracy of information needed for financial statement preparation.• Support CFO and Accounting Manager with various ad hoc tasks/projects. • Other duties as necessary to execute accounting functions and maintain financial system compliance.Basic Qualifications/Requirements: • US Citizen • Minimum 4+ Years of accounting experience ideally in public accounting or in a corporate setting • Excellent understanding of US GAAP as well as basic auditing principles • BS in Accounting (CPA part/fully qualified preferred) • Experience with ERP/NetSuite & Paychex (preferred but not required) • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills • Extreme attention to detail • Strong team player with good communication skills• Familiarity with DCAA compliance a plus Standard Benefits: • Health: Health/Dental/Vision • Retirement: 401k • Casual dress code, Free snacks• Amazing location to live, work, and play ESAero is an equal opportunity employer.Must present proof of authorization to work in the United StatesMust be able to pass background checkHiring Range: $75k-$95k annual salary Powered by JazzHR
