Security Engineer

JOB SUMMARY The Security Engineer will be accountable for developing information security policy, introducing security best practices, and auditing information security compliance. This also includes selecting and implementing appropriate security solutions and leading efforts to assess vulnerability and risk. You will assist respective IS Directors and/or leadership with knowledge and implementing technical and process standards and helping department budget planning and management. SALARY: The pay range for this position is $48.00/hour ($99,840/year) for entry-level qualifications - $84.00/hour ($174,720/year) for highly experienced candidates. The Specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate's specific qualifications and prior experience. BONUS: Eligible for an annual bonus up to 5% ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Creates and modifies firewalls Maintains network protection Reviews client security requirements Coordinates with other engineers Monitors maintenance and changes to firewalls performed Assists with troubleshooting network connectivity Documents status updates and problem resolutions Responds to customer and project requrests Collaborates with the IT team to develop and implement network security policies Conducts network audits Performs log analysis KEY SUCCESS FACTORS Experience with NOC and SOC overlap More advanced leadership, problem solving, team building, and judgment making skills. Skilled project manager with ability to articulate business needs. Excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills. Proficient computer software and database skills. BENEFITS Our competitive benefits package includes the following Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% Tuition Reimbursement PTO accrual beginning Day 1 Note: Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting in-depth issues at the endpoint level related to endpoint security tools Experience with hardware and software for networking, distributed computing, virtualization, large-scale, high-performance storage systems, operating systems, databases, telephony and cloud computing Demonstrated experience working with tools such as Advanced EDR, SIEM, DLP, Group Policy, Email Security, Access management, Host-Firewall in either an incident response or engineering role. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with Security Architects, Principal Engineers and Security Analysts to understand and implement services and policies based on requirements Demonstrated ability to configure tool integrations and advise on best practices from an Endpoint Security perspective Ability to execute under pressure and quickly pivot between tasks while maintaining focus on primary projects and deliverables Ability an willingness to mentor and collaborate with junior security engineers and analysts Familiarity with change management best practices and ability to follow them is required. Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy Professional certifications such as: CISSP, GISP, GCED, CEH, or other relevant industry certification and/or desire to obtain such certifications.
