Job Title: Seasonal Bartender Department: Service-Cycle Room Reports to: F&B Manager Direct Reports: None FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt General Summary: The Bartender is responsible for mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company specifications for members and guests at the bar and in the restaurant. The Bartender provides bar and table service to members and guests by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that members have a pleasant dining experience. Essential Functions : Greet each guest promptly and graciously with eye contact, a smile, and good posture Distribute food and wine menus and answer questions Fill glasses with iced water and suggest menu items Place orders with the kitchen; inform cooks about any special cooking instructions Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections Ensure that food is prepared correctly and to customers’ satisfaction; return incorrect or improperly cooked orders to the kitchen Remove soiled dishes; clear tables after each course and reset them with appropriate silverware Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests according to specifications, courteously and efficiently Ensure that all details of service are performed correctly and that every guest receives the highest quality of service Collect checks and payments from members and guests for food and beverage services Respond quickly to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner Restock and clean the bar while providing friendly and attentive service to members and guest Reports complaints to a manager as they occur Maintain records of liquor, beer, and wine to ensure bar inventory is available for business Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages Competencies: Customer service skills with a friendly and welcoming approach Professional attitude and high standard of dress and presentation Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail and the ability to multi-task Ability to operate point-of-sale systems including printing and closing checks Basic math skills include the ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide Knowledge of all aspects of mixology including food and wine pairings, wine presentation, and service Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations Requirements Educations/Experience: Minimum of 21 years of age High school degree or equivalent preferred 1-2 years of bartending or related food and beverage service experience Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work Conditions: Conditions described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully and safely. The climate will be hot, humid, and somewhat noisy at times. Physical: The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, reach with hands and arms, stoop, or kneel. The employee must push, pull, lift, balance, and carry trays both unilaterally and bilaterally, up to 50 pounds in repetitive motions. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. Hearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., conversation with members, medical codes, or alarms). Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
