ROTO 3rd Shift - Assembler B

This position for 3rd Shift and the Schedule is 10:00pm to 6:15am Eastern Time SUMMARY Perform s a variety of operations to assemble and finish a range of types and sizes of plastic containers and other items . PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work s from engineering prints, bill s of materials, assembly drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. Perform s standard set up and lay s out work area to assemble, or to perform selected operations required for finishing and assembly of containers. Pick s parts and supplies from racks. May assemble container according to prints and specifications. Attach es hardware using fixtures. Cut s , trim s , rout s containers. Perform s gluing, taping, flame treating and labeling operations. Notif ies supervisor or others as appropriate of inspection failures, out of tolerance/specification situations. Perform s limited pressure "Leak" testing, record s results and determine s leak cause for out of specification conditions. Report s out of specification conditions. Repair s , retest s , and document s results on appropriate form. Perform s repair operations. May be required to mask and paint containers. Perform s inspection on finished configured containers and stamp s as approved. Detect s and report s improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to proper supervision. Maintain s work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Maintain s daily production and other records as required. Perform s other related duties as required or directed. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. F ollow s safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job. JOB REQUIREMENTS Must have the u nderstanding and ability to follow all established safety procedures and guidelines. Must have the a bility to use basic hand tools Must have the a bility to follow verbal and/or written instructions. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Actively supports and complies with Pelican's objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels. Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager. Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. PHYSICALY REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job, the emplo yee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers ). While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
