Cobble Hill Health Center is a not-for-profit long- and short-term care facility providing services to the disabled and elderly for over 40 years. The Nurse Manager will play an integral role in helping us to achieve our vision: to consistently exceed expectations and set the standard for excellence in residential and community care. Overview: Clinical: Providing excellent care through preventive medicine and the ability to detect a potential decline to avoid crisis. This is done through day-to-day involvement, meaningful and purposeful rounding, and impromptu huddles as necessary, utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking, while engaging all nurses, CNAs, and other disciplines in the process. Managerial: Clearly defined expectations (with proper training) and accountability will drive staff to perform at their highest capacity with satisfaction. Supervise, evaluate, guide, instruct, and foster the growth and development of staff on all shifts Adjust schedule accordingly to support all three shifts Prepare assignments of nursing personnel Delegate responsibilities with clear expectations and conduct routine meetings with unit staff Audit continuously and evaluate the quality of nursing/unit practices. Assess, create, and deliver corrective action plan if necessary Staffing: Creating a team environment of responsibility, passion, and focus where employees from all shifts feel a united front to care for our residents. It is the hope that with a strong team that feels responsible for one another, there will be no tension between shifts, and fewer call outs as not to leave their colleagues short-staffed. A positive and nurturing environment is key to retaining employees. The ideal candidate will: Have proven clinical and managerial experience with driving high-performing nursing teams Have prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care Experience with SigmaCare (preferred, but not required) Be a graduate from an approved school of nursing Have an active RN license for New York State ACLS and BLS required CPR certification Learn more about life at Cobble Hill: https://www.cobblehilllifecare.org/ Job Posted by ApplicantPro
