Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Resident Engineer to join our construction management team. This position will be involved in different aspects of a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in a position as a Residential Engineer with duties relating to the construction of soil stabilization, tunnel boring machinery, SEM, spoils, and/or cofferdam/sheeting.This position will be full-time, on-site, and will report to our Midtown Manhattan office, client office, and other Armand locations across NYC and NJ. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: Resident Engineer will be required to ensure that construction work is performed in compliance with the contract drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes and standards. Coordinate with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants, and other stakeholders as needed. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety of construction work. Coordinate construction work with necessary parties to ensure that contracts are complete with minimum disruption to any existing facility/operations. Compile comprehensive inspection reports, documenting findings and recording any deviations or discrepancies from approved plans and specifications. Qualifications: Candidate must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and/or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. PE License strongly preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction management and inspection relating to the construction of soil stabilization, tunnel boring machinery, SEM, spoils, and/or cofferdam/sheeting. NJ Transit, MTA, or Amtrak safety training preferred. OSHA 30-hour or SST construction safety required. Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Night and weekend shifts may be required. Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC background check at high level. Valid driver's license may be required depending on the site location. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
