The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project development contracts, particularly in construction/EPC, equipment procurement, and offtake contracts, and a keen interest in applying this experience to the renewable energy sector.Job Details:Apply experience in project development contracts (including construction/EPC, equipment procurement, and offtake contracts) to the renewable energy space.Handle legal aspects of renewable energy project development and finance, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), company or asset purchase and sale agreements, hedge contracts, equipment supply contracts, and construction contracts.Provide legal counsel and support on complex commercial contracts and transactions in the renewable energy industry.Duties:Negotiate and draft project development contracts specific to renewable energy projects.Review and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), construction contracts, equipment supply contracts, and other related agreements.Conduct due diligence and provide legal advice on mergers acquisitions in the renewable energy sector.Assist clients in navigating regulatory and compliance issues related to renewable energy projects.Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to achieve project objectives and mitigate legal risks.Handle transactional matters including company or asset acquisitions and divestitures in the renewable energy space.Requirements:JD from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Utah or eligibility for admission.4+ years of law firm experience focusing on complex commercial contracts and mergers acquisitions.Experience in project development contracts and transactions, preferably in renewable energy.Knowledge of power purchase agreements, construction contracts, and related agreements is highly desirable.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Utah or eligibility for admission.Skills:Strong negotiation and drafting skills.Excellent understanding of commercial contracts and transactional law.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and client satisfaction.Benefits:Work/life balance with a robust wellness program.Unlimited PTO, reduced time program, and sabbatical program for eligible employees and partners.Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, ADD, EAP, STD, and LTD.Enhanced parental leave and Off Ramp/On Ramp program.Voluntary income protection benefits and 401(k)-retirement plan with company match.
