Description:
Assist department director with data collection and audits for performance improvement purposes. Oversees billing practices and assists with patient scheduling as needed. Responsible for mentoring & educating support/clerical staff, new employees, and agency staff. Assist department director with hiring, supervision, and disciplinary action for rehab staff. Responsibilities will include assisting the department director with payroll and staff scheduling. The rehab supervisor, under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation, can provide counseling/disciplinary action up to and including written warnings to PT/OT services departmental staff for non-clinical skill related items. Dedicates up to 50% of their time to direct patient care. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and develop an individualized plan of care for patients establishing goals of treatment and a plan for discharge; taking into consideration the patients needs and limitations. Demonstrates appropriate skill and care in the treatment and management of patients. Treats patients disorders according to developed policies and procedures. Consults with attending physician concerning the patients needs and limitations, goals, plan of care, progress, and discharge plans. Provide each client with educational material as appropriate. Develops a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of educational strategies; family and/or caregivers should be included in teaching, as appropriate. Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency documenting treatment information. Documentation will be timely and completed properly and will include response to treatment and progress towards goals. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety. Maintains current knowledge of all aspects of Rehabilitation treatment strategies. Seeks to improve skills through in-services, seminars, educational meetings, education. Is flexible with worked hours to meet department and facility needs. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
