Practice Area: International Trade, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a skilled Regulations, Investigations, Securities and Compliance Lawyer with expertise in U.S. export controls, sanctions, customs, and international trade regulations. The role requires experience in counseling clients, conducting compliance audits, handling internal investigations, and developing compliance policies. The ideal candidate will also have experience with other investigations-related work (e.g., FCPA) and/or national security matters (CFIUS).Duties and Responsibilities:• Provide legal counsel on U.S. export controls (BIS), sanctions (OFAC), customs (including tariffs), and international trade regulations.• Conduct compliance audits, internal investigations, and develop compliance policies and procedures.• Draft and review licensing applications, legal opinions, and regulatory filings.• Train clients and internal teams on regulatory compliance and best practices.• Respond to government enforcement actions and inquiries.• Handle investigations related to FCPA compliance and national security matters (CFIUS).Requirements:• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier U.S. law school.• Active membership in good standing with the DC Bar.• Should have experience in regulatory compliance, investigations, and securities law.• Strong knowledge of U.S. export controls, sanctions, customs, and international trade regulations.• Experience with compliance audits, internal investigations, and responding to government inquiries.• Prior experience in a large law firm environment is preferred.Skills:• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.• Attention to detail and accuracy in legal analysis and documentation.• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Certifications:• Certification in compliance or related field (e.g., Certified Compliance Ethics Professional) is advantageous.Education:• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier U.S. law school
