Practice Area: International Trade, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Regulations, Investigations, Securities and Compliance Lawyer with extensive experience in U.S. export controls, sanctions, customs, and international trade regulations. The role requires expertise in counseling clients, conducting compliance audits, handling internal investigations, and developing compliance policies. The ideal candidate will also have experience in other investigations-related work such as FCPA compliance and national security matters (CFIUS).Duties and Responsibilities:Provide legal counsel on U.S. export controls (BIS), sanctions (OFAC), customs (including tariffs), and other international trade regulations.Conduct compliance audits and internal investigations.Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to client needs.Draft and review licensing applications, legal opinions, and regulatory filings.Train clients and internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance and best practices.Respond to government enforcement actions and inquiries with strategic guidance.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier U.S. law school.Active membership in good standing with the DC Bar.years of experience in regulatory compliance, investigations, and securities law.Strong academic credentials with a demonstrated record of achievement.Experience with FCPA compliance, national security matters (CFIUS), or related investigations preferred.Prior experience at a large law firm is advantageous.Skills:Excellent communication and writing skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.Attention to detail and accuracy in legal analysis and documentation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.Certifications:Certification in compliance or related field (e.g., Certified Compliance Ethics Professional) is a plus.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier U.S. law school.
