Part-time Registered Dietitian St. Joseph Living Center: Who We Are Saint Joseph Living Center (SJLC) was established in 1988 and is situated on 9 scenic acres in Windham, CT. Sponsored by the Diocese of Norwich, our facility offers short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and end-of-life care. We are a Catholic faith-based community, but we welcome residents of all religious backgrounds. Our suburban setting provides privacy, relaxation, and accessibility, with ample parking. The center features both indoor and outdoor amenities, including a beautiful chapel with daily mass at 11:00 am, an enclosed courtyard with gardens, and a Koi pondWe are seeking individuals that take pride in delivering excellence in serving others, especially our elderly population. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION Coordinates the nutritional activities within the facility, in compliance with DPH regulations and in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Develops and implements a plan of care based on assessment of nutritional needs and correlates with other treatment care plans. Develops therapeutic menu patterns and participates in evaluation of resident/client acceptance. HIPAA and Corporate Compliance. Other duties/projects as identified and assigned by your manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in Nutrition or related field. Registration in the American Dietetic Association. Numerical ability required to calculate nutritional values of foods, plan schedules, and records. Form perception required to judge adherence to portion size specifications. Ability required to utilize dietetic and facility terminologies. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel. Must possess ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Food Services Department. Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job. Must possess strong communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to residents, family members, and facility staff. Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. Must meet all health requirements in accordance with laws and set forth by the policies of the facility which include a medical and physical examination. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Demonstrates knowledge of computer systems, applications, and other office equipment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Adaptability to work that involves the ability to perform short-cycle repetitive duties under specific instructions. Ability to push, pull, move, or lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Frequently stands, walks, end/stoops, reach above shoulder level, crouch and push/pull. Occasionally squats, kneels and balances. May be exposed to low/high temperatures and uncomfortable odors. Ability to see, hear, feel, read, write, and verbalize clearly in English.
