Job Description Purpose/Description The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist 1 is primarily responsible for providing nutritional education, guidance, counseling, and oversight to all aspects of the Women, Infants and Children's (WIC) nutrition service program and ensuring implementation of policies as well as adhering to the standards and guidelines of the WIC Program. Responsibilities Required Tasks Conducts nutritional and biometric assessments for selected populations.Integrate clinical, biochemical, and dietary information to identify nutritional/health risks/needs of families to formulate a plan of long- and short-term care.implement nutrition risk education by conducting individual and group education sessions.Determine approval of food packages and/or special formula requests in accordance with policy and procedures.Provides client-centered education and referrals to clients and families relative to breastfeeding, immunizations, parenting, health care, prenatal care, safety, substance use, communicable diseases, environmental health, and other subjects as needed by client. Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor of Science degree (Masters preferred), Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.Must have a valid State of Michigan driver's license.Registered as a dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Job Posted by ApplicantPro
