Referral Coordinator- Physician Practice

Job Description Job Description:The Referral Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, processing, obtaining prior authorizations, and requesting reports for a variety of medical referrals for services/procedures as requested by medical providers. The Referral Coordinator will also collaborate with other referral staff, medical providers, and patient care support staff to effectively communicate and ensure successful tracking and coordination of referrals. COMPANY DESCRIPTIONFrye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers. Essential Functions Gathers pertinent information as needed via EHR or from clinical team to accurately complete pre-authorization/referral process. Answers, responds and documents phone calls, requests and questions from patients in a timely manner; reviews details and expectations about referrals with patients. Utilizes third party payer/insurance portals as needed. Cross trains with other Referral Coordinators to learn each process related to the various service lines provided by company to completely ensure coverage is available.Benefits - Wide range of benefits options!
