Quality Control Assistant

Description:
Job purpose The Quality Control Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Quality Control department by performing a variety of tasks related to sampling, record-keeping, and assisting with quality control procedures. This position ensures the efficient organization and management of samples, maintains accurate records of pallet status, and provides support to the Quality Control team in their daily operations and projects. Duties and responsibilities Collect samples of each ingredient and finished product according to batch number. Prepare and deliver chocolate samples to the laboratory twice a week. Organize and maintain the sample storage cabinet for easy access and retrieval. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pallets in Hold, Discard/Donation, and Rework status. Ensure proper tagging of pallets and update online records in the ERP system. Locate and provide required sample retentions as needed. Assist the Quality Control team with Rework, Discard/Donation projects. Support the WH team in addressing issues with damaged products, ingredients, or packaging. Participate in specific projects led by the Quality Control team in conjunction with the WH team. Assist in the preparation and execution of training programs related to quality or HR. Conduct orientation sessions for new employees. Responsible for following plant GMP and safety guidelines. Enforces good manufacturing practices and systems with employees working on the production floor. Qualifications A pleasant 'can do' attitude. Recognizes the importance of working as a team. Previous manufacturing experience, preferably confectionary production. Strong work ethics particularly in attendance, punctuality, safety, and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively; clearly and professionally. Experience in quality is a plus. Must have stand-up forklift experience Working conditions Ability to work in a facility that includes multiple candy producing machines, conveyors, and warehouse equipment. Must be able to work any/all shifts as assigned or required Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including Holidays and/or weekends as required Physical requirements A non-slip resistant work shoe Pre-shift stretch and exercises to be performed Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves as needed Position requires the ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walking around the facility, lifting and carrying up t0 50-LBS unassisted, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting Also requires the ability to: see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette Direct reports None Job Posted by ApplicantPro
