All this, we do to provide an opportunity for a better future for all of our TEAM MEMBERS.We are looking for a Laboratory Technician for the Principe Columbia site that:JOB SUMMARYUnder direct supervision and under established laboratory procedures, the technician would be responsible for conducting microbiological and chemical testing of food product. In addition, they will assist with various company wide projects related food safety and quality.Salary range: $45,000 - $53,000ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESApply aseptic technician in all aspect of workConduct microbiological and chemical testing of food productInventory and report status of consumables (e.g. supplies)Conduct routine preventive maintenance and sanitize laboratory equipmentCritically analyze data and enter in LIMS databaseMaintain agents and media as need for daily testingAssist with investigational studiesFollow all laboratory safety guidelinesShare information & collaborate co-workers in an open and timely mannerConduct equipment calibration activitiesLead by example to ensure the actions of other services employees support our goals for quality, quantity, and safety.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESHS Diploma or equivalent, college degree in microbiology preferred. Relevant work experience and proven skills will be considered in lieu of education.Ability to work-in a fast paced environment both individually and as a teamFlexibility to work overtime and weekends as business demandsExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredBasic computer skills required, including Outlook and ExcelDemonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skillsBasic understanding of Quality Control Laboratory equipment & methodologiesDECISION MAKING AUTHORITY NoneBUDGETARY OR PROPERTY RESPONSIBILITY NoneWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLaboratory environment; sterile environment. Potentially working with hazardous materials. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
