Job Description: The Department of Public Health in the College of Health Sciences at Arcadia University is seeking applications for a part-time staff role as Public Health Undergraduate Coordinator. The Department of Public Health at Arcadia University has CEPH accredited public health programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Programs offered within the Department include a BSPH with a concentration in Global Health; an undergraduate minor in Global Public Health; MPH with a Community Health concentration (residential and online); MPH dual degrees with the Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, International Peace and Conflict Resolution, and Counseling programs; and a Health Equity certificate. The department and College of Health Sciences, and University have goals centered on achieving health equity; advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion; and combating anti-Black racism. The role pertains to assisting with the undergraduate public health program for the department. This is a part-time (20 hours a week), 11-month position. Location: Glenside Responsibilities : Enrollment and Accreditation (CEPH) Evaluation: In support of Chair/department, administer evaluation tools/measures for the BSPH including: pre and post competency survey, capstone, field placement, alumni survey, and advising/career services Support the Chair and facilitate the BSPH annual curriculum meeting (discussion of at least one or two classes per year) Maintain the existing database to track student status and enrollment in BSPH and minor Promote BSPH major and minor Student Engagement Communicate with students about public health job, volunteer, and internship opportunities Coordinate with instructors teaching applied learning related courses to improve career offerings as needed Research local organizations facilitating career opportunities and coordinate connections Be visible and accessible for students for engagement Support department public health week events and community engagement Advising Support Support advising processes for BSPH majors, including aligning faculty advising per student enrollment and transfer to majors Support advising for majors and/or minors as needed Advertising/Student Recruitment Attend open houses or other program related events to aid in recruiting students and ensure needed materials are available; follow-up with open house participants and recruit students and faculty to participate Maintain Canvas site for BSPH majors with University resources and coordinate with MPH Canvas site offerings and offer onboarding support Other Responsibilities Support accreditation needs, including preparation for self-study documents and visit and CEPH annual department reports by the Chair Communicate needs to the Chair of PH as needed With Chair, coordinate with University Offices/Departments and partners for student success Coordinate with MPH leadership and Chair of PH to support MPH admissions (4+1 and developing 3+1) Provide other support as needed Qualifications : BA/BS degree required, Public Health or related discipline preferred Strong experience or use of digital and database/software (e.g., MS Office, Google Drive, Canvas) Strong oral/written communication, organizational skills, customer service orientation, and student-centered approach. Background knowledge or understanding of public health is desirable as well as past work experience, preferably in an educational setting. Must be able to work daytime (and occasionally weekends and evenings for special events/open houses) with specific hours agreed upon with the Department Chair based upon department needs. Required attendance at Open Houses or other program-related events. Some local travel to events might be required. Ability to work independently and effectively communicate effectively with undergraduate students, faculty, staff, and prospective students and their families.
