Pay Rate: Salary is negotiable Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday – Friday Job Responsibilities : At Saint Marys Behavioral Health Center our Psychiatrist is a vital part of our team. The Psychiatrist is under the supervision of the Executive Director and is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patients as they go through the treatment process. Job Responsibilities: Conduct patient assessments to diagnose mental health conditions and develop treatment plans Provide individualized care and treatment for patients with various mental health disorders Administer and monitor medication regimens for patients as needed Utilize evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, to help patients manage symptoms and improve their overall well-being Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients Offer support and guidance to patients with developmental disabilities, helping them navigate their unique challenges Provide crisis management services to patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation for each patient Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals Experience working in a hospital or other healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health Proficient in conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans based on individual needs Skilled in crisis management techniques to provide immediate support to patients in distress Proficient in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, including PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders Knowledge of evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, to address specific mental health issues Qualifications : Graduated from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine; Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist. Valid Medical License in the state of Georgia Required Possess a post-residency experience in psychiatry, demonstrating a strong clinical background Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or other special needs Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and compliance standards Maintains current CPR certification.
