With a 121-seat theater and a fully-equipped scene shop, we create an immersive experience for both our patrons and the artists we work with. Our upcoming season of productions promises to be full of captivating and visually stunning shows, and we are seeking a talented Props Designer to help bring our productions to life.Job Description: As a Props Designer at Milagro, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall visual appeal of our productions. You will collaborate closely with our director, production team, and other artists to create, select, and maintain props that align with the artistic vision of each show. Your work will contribute to the success of our performances and bring our stories to life.Preliminary Schedule: FRIDA: un retablo by Dañel Malán-González Production begins: 12/18/2024 Load-In: 1/20/2025 Tech Begins: 1/24/2025 Performance Run: 2/07/2025 - 2/23/2025 a home what howls (or the house what was ravine) by Matthew Paul Olmos Production begins: 3/12/2024 Load-In: 4/14/2025 Tech Begins: 4/18/2025 Performance Run: 5/02/2025 - 5/17/2025 Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the production team to understand the artistic vision and requirements for each production. Attend weekly production meetings with Production Team (via Zoom) Design, create, or source props that are visually appealing, historically accurate, and functional. Work within budget constraints and ensure efficient use of resources. Maintain and repair props as needed throughout the duration of a production. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovative prop-making techniques. Requirements: Proven demonstratable experience as a Props Designer in theater or a related field Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail Proficiency in various prop-making techniques and materials Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production deadlines Knowledge of theater production processes and terminology A passion for the performing arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality work Located in the Portland Metro area with reliable transportation to and from the theatre How to Apply:If you are a talented Props Designer who is passionate about creating immersive and visually stunning theatrical experiences, has the skills and experience required, we invite you to apply.
