Project Executive Location - Various locations covering NE & NW areas of the state (including Augusta areas) This is a Level 5 or 6 Exempt position based on experience. Summary Provide overall project management, policy consistency, and communication between designated Managed Accounts team, Customer Choice team, Local and Area Managers, External Affairs Manager, Distribution and Transmission partners, Pricing and Rates, Market Planning, Distribution Support, Area Planning, Substation, etc. Facilitate project work in association with the assigned region's Key Accounts and other large commercial and industrial customers to increase customer loyalty and company value. Work with assigned Customer Choice Project Managers to assist with projects, and to learn the responsibilities and processes related to customer choice projects Oversee the approval of customer projects through DPRT, TPRT and T&D, including the financial analysis of these projects and negotiation of options with these critical customers. Work customer choice projects as assigned by the CCPM and approved by the Customer Choice Team Leader. Coordinate sales projects with Distribution and Transmission. Assist with the evaluation of capacity requirements and associated costs. Identify opportunities for products and services as well as process improvement given extensive knowledge of GPC and customer's business, assisting in the sales process as needed. Job Experience & Education Four-year degree preferred. Three to five years of experience in sales/marketing, external affairs, and/or power delivery with strong knowledge of power delivery practices, end-use products and technologies, word processing and spreadsheet software, CSS, rates, PRICEM Profitability modeling, BillGen, EFC Calculator, JETS, Clear/Socket. Knowledge Skills & Abilities Thorough and detailed understanding of rates, policies, and procedures and the Georgia Territorial Electric Service Act. Extensive background in the electric utility industry; ability to manage business in a highly competitive market while facing regulatory limitations of the regulated environment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective oral and written communications skills, including ability to convey information in a manner that is compelling and convincing; ability to interface with individuals at all levels inside and outside the company on issues including electric power operations and power quality issues. Prioritization and simultaneous management of multiple projects with significant financial impact. Comfort in difficult situations and the ability to resolve conflict. Capacity to identify all possible options and solutions for a specific situation, ensure consistency in application, and recommend the appropriate course of action. Ability to identify and assign tasks and resources required to reach objectives. Excellent customer skills with an ability to effectively probe for information, negotiate and move prospect to closure, and identify internal resources necessary to assist in developing solutions. Strong management and entrepreneurial skills with the ability to think outside the box is required to create unique opportunities that position Georgia Power ahead of its competition. Ability to understand financial measurements from both an internal and customer perspective and be able to communicate effectively with customers and internal partners on financial issues. Identify the territorial and competitive nature of new projects to ensure that appropriate approaches are followed. Manage projects involving Power Delivery, Pricing and Rates, Market Planning, etc., for Key Account managers, Local and Area managers, and External Affairs managers who handle large customers. Facilitate projects with the Key Account manager, Local and Area managers, External Affairs managers, Distribution, Area Planning, Transmission, Network Underground, and Substation Test, Market Planning, Pricing and Rates, Distribution Project Review Team (DPRT), Transmission Planning Review Team (TPRT), and Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Council to streamline projects and meet deadlines for large, complex customer projects. Assist Customer Choice Project Managers in the customer choice market. Implement the Sales Process to enhance effectiveness. Ensure that project contracts, rates and approvals follow the latest policies and procedures. Take a lead in ensuring that processes are efficient, up to date, and in the best interest of the customer and the company. Present projects to DPRT, TPRT, and T&D Council for approval. Must be able to explain service method, revenue options, and outputs of profitability model. Build relationships with region and corporate partners including Distribution managers, engineers, area planners, Metering, Pricing and Rates, Market Planning, and Distribution Support, etc. Effectively work as a liaison between the customer and company to assure fulfillment of customers' needs. Support efforts to achieve incremental kWh sales, Electric Transportation, Distributed Energy Resources, and Energy Efficiency goals. Proactively seek opportunities to sell profitable products and services (i.e. Power Services). Evaluate financial alternatives that will meet the customer's and the company's needs and be able to negotiate these options. Provide 24-hour Power Delivery support for customers during SERP duties.
