The ARCHES Team wants a Program Coordinator to join their team! The Program Coordinator will coordinate the processes and procedures that will lead to the identification and prioritization of unaccompanied minors, youth, and young adults (YYA) for the Coordinated Entry System (CES) in accordance with the goals of the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project (YHDP) grant. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma/GED. Associate's Degree in Social Sciences or related field preferred. Four years of work or volunteering experience in fast-paced customer service, healthcare, education, social or community services or related public-facing sectors. Equivalent combinations of education, various experience and training may be accepted. Preference will be given to candidates with work or volunteer experience working with special needs population and/or experience working with youth, high-risk youth or young adults 11-24 years of age. Preferences given to applicants who have experience being a team lead or acting in a leadership role. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required. Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. Basic Life Support/First Aid Certification is required within first 30 days of hire. Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain within 30 days. Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to read, analyze and articulate technical procedures and governmental regulations. Must possess excellent planning, organization and time management skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form. Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and empathy when communicating formally and informally with clients, staff and program partners. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. Works collaboratively in guiding the implementation of the Youth and Young Adults (YYA) Marion and Polk Coordinated Entry System. Edits staff assessment schedules and coordinates phone, on-site and off-site assessment locations for youth and young adults. Tracks client assessment data using Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and compiles monthly reports via online database and Microsoft Excel. Establishes and maintains relationships within social service networks and community partners. Coordinates the Coordinated Entry initiatives towards the following goals: SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES There are no supervisory duties in this position. Required to frequently reach with hands and arms; regularly required to climb, balance, walk stoop, kneel, or crouch. Maintains calm disposition when clients or others may become escalated, applying crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for all participants. Regulates emotions during interactions with escalated clients and staff. Regulates emotions and handles pressures of frequent demands for attention, time and work tasks. WORK ENVIRONMENT Occasional urgent situations requiring law enforcement involvement and/or paramedic professionals. Close quarters, often with a client population experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior. Occasional exposure to bodily fluids and malodorous air. Potential exposure to drug use by unsheltered clients. Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
