POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor is a hands-on supervisor who is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Shift Team Members. The RTE Supervisor will effectively communicate pertinent information to team members, supervisors and managers. Will provide recommendations to continuously improve processes. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a safe work environment by supporting operations and organizational safety initiatives. Ensure Food Safety Systems are adhered to in all processes. Support Operations Team in overseeing staffing, meeting productions goals and maintaining strong employee relations. Investigate and document all near misses and injuries. Provide documentation to Safety Manager, Manager and Supervisors Develop and coach team members by providing business, leadership and technical training. Oversee technical training for all team members to ensure certifications and qualification are maintained. Ensure GMPs and SSOPs standards are provided for all employees to effectively perform their assigned duties. Lead team to support and develop plans to meet department and organizational objectives. Recommend changes in work practices to improve standards and effectiveness of process. Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures. Responsible for managing employee timecards and submitting in a timely manner. Develop and post weekly schedule for team and update changes in the Time & Attendance System. Review staffing needs to ensure staff corresponds with production needs. Participate in interviewing and hiring of team members. Effectively provide shift pass downs, and other information to team members, supervisors and managers. Ensure proper operation, by team members, of processing equipment by monitoring flow of materials and machine malfunctions providing troubleshooting when applicable. Perform other job duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager. JOB COMPETENCIES: Safety Awareness: Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety. Resource Management (People & Equipment) - Ability to obtain and appropriate the proper usage of equipment, facilities, materials, as well as personnel. Prioritization: Ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks and manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as ability to make presentations. Team Involvement: Works effectively with teams and work groups and establishes positive working relationships. Actively participates in problem solving and interacts with team and work groups to achieve team organizational goals. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Three years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in quality control processes. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Computer knowledge proficiency and the ability to learn ERP and computer systems. Position Certifications : Must obtain and maintain Forklift, Boom lift, Scissor lift certifications. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand for periods of time at work station, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company. The majority of the roles is performed in a manufacturing environment which may include high levels of noise. Working conditions can include extreme cold, heat, humidity or salty environment's to be able to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
