Principal Software Development Engineer

Description:
Duties : Develop the next-generation software for the Applied Genomics product line. Hands-on involvement in designing and developing software for next generation automated liquid handling platforms and microfluidics products. Improving quality and performance of existing software by adding new features and resolving product issues. Work closely with other engineering disciplines to deliver products on time and on budget, ensuring implementation of the most effective technical solutions to meet business requirements. Provide technical guidance in software design and development processes. Champion quality throughout the development process through risk assessment and mitigation, unit and automated testing while working closely with SQA team. Requirements : Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or related field of study, and 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving software engineering. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: C#/C++/C programming languages in the .NET/Visual Studio development environment; Agile Scrum development methodologies; Version control (Git, TFS), bug tracking systems and procedures; Communication protocols: RS232, CAN, and TCP/IP; and various features for Janus Liquid Handling Workstation design and implementation. Experience specified must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: Cognex Deep Learning to enable high-throughput fractionated blood imaging on Janus platform; Medical device development (21 CFR - Part 11); and SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, or NoSQL databases. Experience specified must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: Firmware development (TI DSP, PIC); Automated build systems and testing; commercial installers; and camera deck verification for Janus/Fontus Liquid Handling Workstation. Experience specified must include 1 year of experience with various features for Fontus Liquid Handling Workstation development. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.
