Together, we won't stopPosition summaryT-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Principal Engineers, Software located in Frisco, TX will be responsible for public clouds including AWS, Azure, GCP, analysis of actuals to budget and forecast, analyzing key areas of waste and optimization, utilization rates.Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Extract and analyze large scale data within cloud billing and usage, to support management and financial partners in decision making.Execute opportunities for price optimizations initiatives with public cloud vendors including long term reservation contracts, volume discounts, and private pricing.Identify, implement, and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Write high-quality code and mentor others to do the same.Lead the development efforts for cloud-based applications and infrastructure.Create development standards/guidelines for app teams and help them follow the DevOps model.Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications.Develop support documentation for acceptance of systems changes into production.Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs of technical specifications with other members of the technical municate design, requirements, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications.Utilize departmental agile software development methodologies as a guide for development activities.Meet project schedules by providing accurate estimates of effort required for development municate updates on project progress to development and project management.Escalate issues which may affect project success to management.Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training.Collaborate with other teams including Business, Enterprise Testing, Release Management, Project Management and Application Support for successful delivery of systems enhancements.Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must live within reasonable commuting distance.Skill requirements: Using JavaScript frameworks including VueJS and React to design and develop front-end applications with awareness of component lifecycle, AuthN/AuthZ security principals, state management, routing, and performance optimization.Developing Kubernetes (K8s) solutions that include implementing horizontal and cluster autoscaling, defining container orchestration, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.Utilizing AWS, Azure, and GCP internal cost analysis tools to assist Cloud application teams in cloud spend analysis, optimization opportunity identification, and forecasting costs.Designing and developing RESTful API solutions using Java, Python, and Golang with a focus on S.O.L.I.D. design principles, versioning strategies, rate limiting techniques, caching mechanisms, authentication, error handling, and SQL/NoSQL database integration.Designing and developing GraphQL solutions that include designing and implementing complex data schemas, optimizing query execution, implementing real-time functionality through subscriptions, and integrating federated GraphQL architectures for distributed systems.Providing technical leadership by driving team agile methodologies, developing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines, providing guidance for a team size of at least 5 software engineers, and collaborating with multiple business units enterprise-wide.Experience and education requirements:PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.Additional: Location: Frisco, TXThis position is eligible for the employee referral program.How to apply:Visit a candidate profile, and apply to REQ281897.OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week.
