Village of Skokie Planning Manager (Full-time) Community Development Dept. The Village of Skokie, IL, is currently seeking qualified candidates who are interested in pursuing a rewarding and challenging career as our Planning Manager, working to help us grow and expand our vibrant and diverse community. As a key member of a very busy and dynamic Community Development team and under general supervision of the Community Development Director, the Planning Manager performs work of considerable difficulty in the direction, coordination, and supervision of professional Village planning and community development activities and related work; Directs and coordinates the work of Planning Coordinators in the Planning Division; Prepares, updates and maintains the Comprehensive Plan and related sector plans; Coordinates the scheduling of cases and prepares reports for the Plan Commission; Conducts planning studies related to the development and redevelopment of the Village; Serves as Village point of contact for the U.S. Census Bureau and is responsible for census data analysis & distribution; Acts as a representative of the Village on major public and private planning projects; Recommends policies and procedures for the operation of the Planning Division; Reviews site plans for general conformance with the Zoning Chapter of the Village Code; Recommends amendments to the Zoning and Subdivision Chapters of the Village Code; Involved in the preparation of reports for the Block Grant Program; Supervises the maintenance of documents and records for the Planning Division as well as the review and recording of plats; Coordinates with Economic Vitality division on potential projects; Writes grant applications for Federal and State programs; Prepares the Planning Division and Plan Commission/Zoning Board budgets; Ability to offer advice and guidance on project design & architecture for various new construction and rehabilitation of large-scale projects; Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.To learn more about the Village of Skokie and about this exciting career opportunity, including salary & benefits, how to apply, and requirements for education & work experience, please visit the Skokie Jobs page at skokie.org and select the Planning Manager position.Applications are being accepted through Monday July 22, 2024.
