Department: Community Development Reports To: Department Directors (Community Development, Economic Development, Parks, Public Works, Engineering) Employment Type: Part-Time / Highly Flexible Summary North Logan City seeks a Planning / Design Intern interested in working on various projects ranging from, but not limited to: Planning (community general plan development, policy/ordinance drafting) Zoning (development review) Parks (parks master planning, programming, landscape architecture, signage) Economic Development (policy, strategic planning, business recruitment and retention, marketing material development) Code Enforcement (violation tracking and resolution) As an internship position, the city will coordinate with the intern to assign projects that align with their unique interests and desired professional development. The city has no shortage of potential projects and experience opportunities. As such, this position will provide a unique opportunity for the intern to customize their experience and build a portfolio of real-world applications geared toward their desired career trajectory.This position is highly flexible with school schedules and other academic obligations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Eagerness to apply unique interests and skills towards the completion of projects. Performs a variety of professional and technical duties related to implementing department work plans and programs. Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to various aspects of community development. Use of design software to graphically communicate projects, proposals, plans, and reports. Provides presentations to various boards, committees and councils. Other duties may be assigned as needed. No supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program related to the job summary (Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Parks and Recreation, Economic Development, Civil Engineering, etc.) Graphic Communication / Design experience is strongly preferred (Adobe CC, ArcGIS/ESRI, SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc.) Job Posted by ApplicantPro
