Description:
As a Senior Pipe Support Engineer, you will be responsible for locating and designing supports for various piping systems, along with performing the necessary calculations. The ideal candidate will have experience with pipe support hardware, industry standards, and codes such as AISC and ASME B31.3. Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with layout personnel, pipe stress engineers, and other support engineers to create effective and economical designs.Coordinate with various engineering disciplines and vendors as necessary.Work within a 3D modeling environment to extract 2D pipe support drawings.Basic QualificationsIn-depth knowledge of AISC, ASME B31.3, and other relevant industry codes.Experience with structural analysis programs.Education/Experience RequirementsGrade 25: Bachelors degree with 6 years of related experience.Grade 26: Bachelors degree with 9 years of related experience.Minimum QualificationsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if applicable), and background check.Must be eligible for a Department of Energy badge for access to the site, including security compliance for telework.Must have the right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Preferred QualificationsPE Registration.Experience with pipe stress analysis software such as ME150 (FAPPS) or GT STRUDL.Familiarity with Pipe SupportModeler software.Previous experience with DOD/DOE projects.
