NRVCS is searching for our next Peer Recovery Trainee! You will work with other trainees, to gain knowledge, skills and abilities to prepare for certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist, all while serving your community. This position allows you to use past experiences to council, heal and grow clients towards a better future!Under the requirement from the Virginia Board of Certification, the individual will gain up to 500 hours direct experience and weekly supervision that addresses the following four performance domains: Advocacy, Mentoring/Education, Recovery/Wellness Support and Ethical Responsibility. As an entry level position, duties associated with the performance domains are under the direct supervision of The Office of Peer Supports and Recovery Supervisor and the 401 Peer Center. There will also be related support from designated Peer Support Specialists, and the Program Supervisors. The knowledge required for the position will be achieved through the use of an individualized training plan with ongoing education, supervision, instruction and participation in service delivery. Starting Hourly Rate: $12.71--Depending on ExperienceEducation/Experience Required: * A mental health or substance abuse disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more * Identify a year in recovery * High School Diploma or GED Equivalent * Required to have completed 72 hour Peer Recovery Specialist Training Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages.
