The ideal candidate will manage patent prosecution matters, counsel clients, draft patent applications, and conduct due diligence.Duties:Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.Produce high-quality deliverables, answer phone calls, and respond to correspondence promptly.Ensure timely and accurate work product while meeting deadlines and expectations.Foster positive relationships and adhere to firm policies and practices.Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including computer work, digital/virtual conference calls, and meetings as required.Perform additional duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.Requirements:Registration with the USPTO.Minimum 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution.Familiarity with patent prosecution, client counseling, drafting patent applications, freedom to operate opinions, and due diligence.Experience in a large or mid-sized law firm preferred.Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.Good business judgment and excellent organizational abilities.Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.Research and problem-solving capabilities.Conceptual thinking and ability to influence others.Persuasive communication and management skills.A JD degree is required; an additional chemical engineering or chemistry degree is preferred.Admitted to practice law in Virginia.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree.A bachelor's or advanced degree in chemical engineering or chemistry is preferred.Admission to practice law in Virginia.Skills:Strong analytical and writing skills.Attention to detail.Good business judgment.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively and independently.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.Research and problem-solving skills.Conceptual thinking.Ability to influence others.Persuasive communication.Management skills.Location: Reston, VABenefits Offered: The firm provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k).
