The ideal candidate will prepare and prosecute patent applications, primarily in molecular biology. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic legal environment.Duties:Communicate verbally and in writing effectively with clients, attorneys, and stakeholders.Produce high-quality patent applications and responses to office actions.Manage patent portfolios and provide strategic counsel on intellectual property matters.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.Assist with patent litigation and licensing agreements as needed.Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop and implement IP strategies.Stay updated on industry trends and changes in patent law.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related field; PhD preferred.Registration with the USPTO is required.Minimum 2+ years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications.Previous experience in a law firm setting, particularly in intellectual property.Knowledge of patent litigation, opinions, licensing, and due diligence preferred.Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Education and Certifications:A bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field is required.PhD in molecular and cellular biology or similar discipline preferred.Registration with the USPTO.Skills:Strong analytical and writing skills.Attention to detail and good business judgment.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work collaboratively and independently.Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.Research and problem-solving abilities.Conceptual thinking and ability to influence others.Persuasive communication and management skills.Physical Demands:Ability to engage in physical and sedentary activities, including extended periods at a computer and participation in virtual meetings.Other:Compliance with firm policies and practices.Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k) plan.
