Part Time Grow Ahead Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Grow Ahead JOB SUMMARY:The Coordinator of the Grow Ahead Program is tasked with overseeing and enhancing the existing gardening and whole child wellness program. This role involves designing a comprehensive curriculum plan that integrates educational and therapeutic activities for children within CCGC programs and the broader community. The coordinator will ensure the seamless implementation of the program, manage supplies procurement, conduct data collection for impact assessment and report findings for the grant. In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance and management of the garden, pond, grow racks and green house . This is a part time 10 hour/week non-benefited position. This position is currently grant funded for one year, at which time its success will be evaluated for potential continuation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and implements a year-round hands-on developmentally appropriate gardening curriculum with educational and therapeutic activities for children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Implements Grow Ahead curriculum to CCGC school students weekly. Collaborates with all of CCGC’s programs to organize and distribute take home therapeutic garden activities. Develops a data collection and impact report to assess the effectiveness of the program. Identifies relevant data points, establishes tracking mechanisms and survey methodology to collect data. Organizes and conducts an after-school community Grow Ahead group . Develops and prepares monthly reports for grant requirements, detailing progress, monitoring benchmarks, and identifying achievements. Oversees maintenance of and care of all plants, gardens, and related spaces, and helps to manage gardening volunteers. Collaborates with the Grow Ahead committee and CCGC departments. Maintains communication and engages in weekly supervision as needed . Orders Grow Ahead supplies and materials in collaboration with supervisor. Participates in outreach and fundraising efforts related to the Grow Ahead Program. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills Experience working with children preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
