Job: Ophthalmic Pediatric Technician EEOC: Technician Status: Non-Exempt Department: Clinical We are hiring experienced cornea technicians to work in a supportive environment in which they can make a huge impact in someone's life. Position Overview: Ophthalmology technologists work with ophthalmologists, medical doctors who specialize in the diagnoses and treatment of eye diseases and disorders. Ophthalmology technologists work in a number of capacities, including assisting during eye surgery and setting up and performing maintenance on equipment. In addition, ophthalmology technologists often perform diagnostic testing, including measuring a patient's vision. Technologists in this career field must be familiar with ophthalmic pharmacology and understand the use of corrective lenses. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include patient workup consisting of history, visual acuity, dilating pupils, sensory examination and other elements as required. Technicians also perform various diagnostic testing (OCT, fundus photography, visual fields) and scribe for physicians using the InteliDOX Electronic Medical Records software; therefore, proficient computer skills are essential Also requires traveling from Fayetteville to Marietta.
