Construction Law experience is required - Boca Raton, FL Florida Bar License is required We're seeking an Of-Counsel attorney relationship to assist our growing law firm. This position can be remote or hybrid, but we also have space for you in our office in East Boca Raton. Our law firm is positioned as Florida's Premier Residential Construction Law Firm for Homeowners. We help homeowners before, during, and after their custom home builds and major home renovation projects. We provide advice, guidance, and contract drafting services to homeowners before projects. We provide ongoing advice and guidance as a Renovation Concierge during projects. We provide fixed-fee pre-litigation services to homeowners when their projects go sideways in terms of time, money, and quality of work. We provide litigation services in only a select few instances. This is a niche within the construction law niche that we are currently set to dominate through value-added services and creative billing models. We also represent a select group of contractors with their contracts and collections/lien issues. The role involves client contact, supervising and directing the work of legal support staff, and litigating and negotiating on behalf of homeowners and contractors. Our clients have very real-life problems that affect their living situations at home and come to us to help resolve their problems swiftly. So, our goal is to resolve their issues efficiently. Compensation: 25 percent revenue sharing or fixed hourly rate to be discussed Responsibilities: --- Communicating empathetically with emotional, non-institutional clients in need of valuable, real-life guidance with issues of great importance to them --- Reviewing a client's issues on legal matters, analyzing available options, and diligently working to determine the best course of action --- Resolving the clients' issues as promptly and efficiently as possible. --- Leading the firm's litigation practice through discovery, depositions, mediation, etc. --- Guiding homeowners through issues common to major renovation projects, including issues relating to payments, timing, and quality of work --- Guiding contractors through day-to-day contract, lien, and payment issues Qualifications: --- You must be licensed in Florida with construction law experience. --- Your substantive knowledge includes, and you have experience with, all of the following: legal issues at the heart of the owner-contractor-subcontractor relationships, disputes between homeowners and contractors, construction defects, and construction liens. --- You are a professional and are comfortable being held accountable to performance metrics (not just billable hours) --- You are empathetic, yet can have tough conversations with clients --- You are a strong negotiator --- You are an excellent writer who knows how to present arguments succinctly and persuasively in letters and motions --- You have a growth mindset and value your happiness and fulfillment --- You are savvy with technology --- You take pride in accuracy and attention to detail --- Ability to generate clients within the firm's niche will be rewarded About Company: Why Join Us?
