Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Practice Area: Litigation - General (consumer), Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience, ideally from an AmLaw 100 firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, superior research and writing skills, and substantial case management experience. They must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. State Bar admission in Illinois or eligibility for admission via waiver is required.Duties:Manage and handle a caseload of litigation matters, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial activities.Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.Draft and prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, pleadings, and briefs.Develop and execute case management plans, including discovery and deposition strategies.Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and other legal professionals.Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex litigation matters.Attend and participate in client meetings, strategy sessions, and case evaluations.Ensure timely and accurate delivery of legal services and documentation.Respond to client inquiries, phone calls, and correspondence promptly and professionally.Foster positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.Comply with all firm policies, procedures, and practices.Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods and participating in virtual and in-person meetings.Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by supervising attorneys or management.Requirements:3+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.Strong academic background from a well-recognized and respected law school.Superior research, writing, and analytical skills.Proven case management experience and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.State Bar admission in Illinois or eligibility for admission via waiver.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Certifications:State Bar admission in Illinois or eligibility for admission via waiver.Skills:Expertise in litigation procedures and strategies.Strong research and problem-solving abilities.Proficient in drafting legal documents and pleadings.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to meet deadlines and manage a demanding caseload.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong client service orientation and ability to build positive relationships.Proficiency in using legal research tools and case management software.Capability to engage in both physical and sedentary tasks as required.Benefits Offered:Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) retirement plan.Compensation based on geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications.
