This position involves assisting clients with divorce and family law matters, representing clients in court proceedings, drafting legal documents, and providing excellent client service.Job Overview:The Mid-Level Associate Attorney will primarily handle divorce and family law cases, providing strategic legal advice and representation to clients. They will be responsible for communicating with clients, preparing for hearings, drafting legal documents, and staying updated on relevant laws and regulations.Duties:Effectively communicate with clients, opposing parties, court, and othersAnalyze client situations and needs to create strategic plans of actionPrepare for hearings and represent clients in court proceedingsDraft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, and other legal documentsReview and monitor new laws and regulationsContinuously update clients on case developmentsCounsel clients on settlement options versus contesting issuesPromote an excellent client experiencePerform other tasks as assigned by the Senior AttorneyRequirements:3 years of experience working in a family law firm in SE WisconsinAdmitted to practice law in Wisconsin and satisfactory standing with the State BarExcellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situationsEducation Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolSkills:Strong communication and negotiation skillsProficiency in basic business software (MS Office Suite), Email client software, case management softwareFamiliarity with legal research software (Westlaw, Lexis) and other computer and telephone technology as required
