Coordinates credentialing and privileging functions for the Medical Staff, other providers, and their employees. Cross-trained with the Medical Staff Support Specialist in order to share case load and/or provide back-up coverage as needed. Fully trained as Medical Staff Support Specialist in order to supervise, coordinate, and/or share case load and/or provide back-up coverage as needed. Provides general administrative and secretarial support to the Medical Staff President and the various Medical Staff departments and committees. Facilitates the continuous integration of computer applications into the operations of Medical Staff Services (MSS) to optimize efficiency and assists with medical staff adoption of and proficiency in electronic records and media. Research and evaluation, implementation, training, technical support, and maintenance of clinical, and credentialing systems; primary MSS liaison with Information Systems; responsible for assigning Epic physician training and sharing this responsibility with IS physician trainer. Shared responsibility for medical staff orientation with CMO as assigned.Responsibilities: Supervises/Coordinates the physician credentialing process for new applicants and reappointments, and prepares, processes or maintains associated hard copy and computer system documents and files. Supervises/provides administrative support to the medical staff departments and committees. Serves as liaison for medical offices and medical staff services. Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel to responsibilities and procedures, as requested. Performs other duties as needed.Other information: Associates in Accounting or Business or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education. Batchelor Degree preferred CPMSM and/or CPCS certification. Membership in NAMSS encouraged. 4 years of Healthcare/Medical - Medical Secretary.
