SUMMARY: This position Mid a level that will perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, repairing machinery, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Contributes to installations, operation, maintenance, creation processes, and repair of equipment. The Mechanical Engineer will manage KPIs and ensure preventative actions are taken to maximize success. RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Confer with the Operations Manager or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines. Collaborates with the product manager or the plant engineer regarding new products that will be required. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions. Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills. Ability to use common test tools – multi-meters, etc. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. SKILLS Equipment Maintenance- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Equipment Selection- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. Installation- Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Operation and Control- Controlling operations of equipment or systems. Operations Analysis- Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design. Quality Control Analysis- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Repairing- Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Technology Design- Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Troubleshooting- Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, is required. Technical schools and or military schools a plus. 3 Years – Experience in a Field or similar manufacturing environment 3 Years – Experience in Position 2 Years – Experience managing people/projects. Bilingual is a plus, not required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach clean, and service machinery. Must be able to visually inspect machines. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
