Role Description: A highly-respected engineering company in Austin is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with HVAC and/or plumbing design experience to their growing team. Key Responsibilities : Calculate, design, and generate AutoCAD and/or Revit files and construction documents to support MEP engineering needs for a variety of building types (commercial office, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare facilities, multifamily, etc.), especially in the area of HVAC, plumbing and other mechanical systems. Project management responsibilities on both small and large projects, including establishing schedules, assigning resources, monitoring performance and keeping projects on time and on budget. Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering related documents and schedules, along with any associated general project documents. Provide review of mechanical design submittals and go into the field as needed to address any issues, conflicts, questions that may arise. Generate and present project status updates as needed to a variety of internal and external audiences. Work toward developing new business with existing and new clients through building relationships. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelors degree in Mechanical or other engineering discipline. Minimum 6 years relevant experience in HVAC or plumbing design and project management; MS degree is a plus. Current PE License. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a range of people from subcontractors to project owners. Previous work in AutoCAD and Revit is required. (Familiarity with HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and/or AIRMaster is a big plus). HVAC / Plumbing design and Project Management experience for commercial, multifamily, educational, health care and institutional buildings is a very strong plus.
