ABS Consulting's Extreme Loads and Structural Risk Division is seeking an experienced Explosion Hazard Analyst / Lead Engineer to join our team. ABS Consulting is a worldwide multi-discipline industry leader in risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and management planning for natural, process, or threat related hazards.The Extreme Loads group has unique capabilities and extensive experience in the analysis and design of facilities subject to extreme loads including: * Facility Siting Analysis * Quantitative Risk Assessment * Fire & Explosion Risk Assessments * Explosion, Fire and Toxic Modeling * Explosion Testing and Similitude Modeling * Advanced Finite Element Analysis: Nonlinear static, Nonlinear transient dynamic * Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics Analyses * Root Cause Analysis & Incident InvestigationsWhat You Will Do: * Interfaces with clients to define a scope of work and job tasks. * Performs as a team member or a project manager, consistent with skills and experience required for the project. * Drafts technically accurate and timely reports, responses to letters, faxes, and other forms of communication. Communication skills are continually developed - both written and oral. * Develops or assists in the development of qualification statements, proposals, and other presentation materials. * Reviews other engineers' work and provides appropriate guidance and training when necessary. * Prepare and submit time charge records and expense reports in a timely manner, in accordance with Company procedures. * Ensures that work products are appropriately reviewed before delivery to client. What You Will Need: Education & Experience * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering. * 5 years (minimum) of professional experience * Coursework in fluid dynamics and energy emphasis. * 5+ years of experience performing CFD modeling of dispersion/explosion using GEXCON FLACS. * 5+ years of experience performing consequence modeling using DNV PHAST. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Experience with CFD modeling using ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, COMSOL, or equivalent. * Programming/scripting experience (.NET, Python, VBA). * Project management experience. * Experience as a consulting engineer.
