Location Bridgeport Fittings, Stratford CT R esponsibilities: Lay out, install, and repair all types of electrical equipment such as high tension switchboards and automatic controls Perform all types of plant wiring including the maintenance of signal telephone or loudspeaker systems Install and repair relay and ordinary lighting circuit jobs, push buttons controls, switches, cord sets, etc. Must have knowledge of motors and industrial electronics Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment Recommend and order spare parts and equipment QUALIFICATIONS: Technical school graduate; State apprentice program completed Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working as an Electrician (preferably in the Industrial environment) Verifiable, formal training in Electrical Theory and Safety Knowledge of PLC Programming, Troubleshooting, and Repair Understanding of industrial motor control, AC/DC, invertor drives, holding circuits, and overload protection Capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays, starters, motors, drives, and switches Must be able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics Experience using common electrical tools such as Multi-Meters, Strippers/Crimpers, EMT Benders, and Threaders Must be able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal guidelines Must be organized, neat, and able to work independently and as a team member Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Preferred: Knowledge of Rockwell Automation SLC500 Preferred: Certificate of competition of an apprenticeship program Preferred: E-2 License Position reports to Facilities Manager ENVIRONMENT: 100% performed in plant facilities with extensive noise and machinery running While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
