An Attorney who can bring their extensive immigration experience to support the legal department. Job Type: Full-time Benefits: --- 401k --- 401k matching --- Dental insurance --- Health insurance --- Life insurance --- Paid time off --- Vision insurance Work Location: In person Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Ability to Commute: --- Oak Brook, IL 60523 (Required) Ability to Relocate: --- Oak Brook, IL 60523: Relocate before starting work (Required) Responsibilities: The Job: --- Take ownership of a client's case - federal immigration proceedings and state court criminal cases --- Conduct client meetings and recommend strategies --- Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants and monitor their work --- Full-service immigration services: family immigration, employment immigration, deportation defense The Essentials: --- Skills and experience are important and valued, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. We need an attorney who already has litigation experience, but attitude is just as important --- High-maintenance, humorless, self-entitled, or self-important individuals will not succeed in this position and need not apply --- If you think filling out a plea form is the best thing you can do for a client, please do not apply Spanish Speaking is Preferred. Qualifications: Experience: --- US Immigration law: 4 years (Preferred) --- Managed a team of paralegals, attorneys, or legal assistants --- Ability to think on your feet and pivot when needed --- Great customer service experience --- Experience in the courtroom --- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school --- Admitted to the state bar association and in good standing --- Proven experience practicing law with a focus on immigration law --- Strong litigation skills with experience in representing clients in court --- Proficiency in legal administrative tasks within a law office setting --- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly --- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on legal matters About Company: Godoy Law Office is a fast-growing immigration law firm where we help immigrants make America their home.
