The Learning Manager manages activities pertaining to the development, delivery and measurement of employee and client training for the designated ABS Academy.What You Will Do: * Builds, facilitates, and promotes webinars, lunch n' learns, etc. for employees. * Keeps local Management informed of learning programs carried out within the Academy. * Manages the scheduling, facilitator coordination, and delivery of employee and client learning experiences, working with regional Academy Producers and ABS Academy managers as necessary. If based in the Americas Academy, will also provide support for global coordination and communication to learning management. * Supports proposal development, sales, contracts, and execution for the delivery of ABS Academy products and services. * Conducts client visits to promote training programs and ABS activities, as necessary. * Stays abreast of the latest learning and facilitation practices, trends, and emerging thinking around learner experience. * Makes recommendations for course development supported by business plans. * Contributes to the continual improvement of ongoing training operations for the Academy. * Identifies qualified auditors to evaluate CMET projects and processes CMET reports. * May communicate with USCG National Maritime Center regarding Quality Standard System topics and STCW course certifications. * Reviews course evaluations from ABS employees and clients, and documents negative or constructive feedback as instructed What You Will Need: Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in an appropriate technical discipline. * Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of experience employed by a marine classification society in surveyor role. * Auditor experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Excellent planning, organizational and oral and written communication skills. * Shipboard operational experience preferred. * Working knowledge of the STCW requirements preferred (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer). * Strong interpersonal skills to organize, direct and motivate personnel at various levels. * Able to assume a high level of individual responsibility. * Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
