Lucas County Farm Bureau is seeking an Outreach Coordinator who embodies these qualities and more.What We're Seeking: * Detail-oriented individuals committed to delivering high-quality, consistent work * Organized and motivated self-starter * Enthusiastic about engaging with school and youth to promote agriculture in and out of the classroom * Creative writing skills as an Editor of Lucas County Spokesman page * Comfortable operating within a Microsoft Environment to support the works of the Lucas County Farm Bureau Board of Directors * Proficient in navigating social media platforms * Willing to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities * Confident speakers that are comfortable addressing groups of various ages * Well-versed and interested in the agricultural industryAdditional Details: * Currently part time (up to 20 hours per week) * Limited travel primarily in Lucas County * Based in Chariton, Iowa with programs conducted throughout Lucas County * Flexible work schedule available after training completedBasic FunctionPerform communications and outreach duties on behalf of the County Farm Bureaus. Duties involve County Farm Bureau coordination of events including; Ag in the Classroom and public outreach coordination, communication with general membership, managing social media accounts, publishing articles for the Farm Bureau newsletter publication, telephone reception and facilities maintenance management. Classroom experience is not required but is a plus.Essential Functions * Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities * Research, prepare, and submit articles to the newsletter * Collect and enter member advertisements in the Spokesman * Maintain a social media presence on important platforms * Coordinate Ag in the Classroom opportunities within county school districts * Membership data base updates and data mining * Collect and process membership information or payments from renewing clients * Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors including; preparation of documents and materials for the County Board of Directors meetings. Examples include timely meeting notices, meeting minutes, preparing details for discussion topics, preparing agenda items, preparing refreshments, and follow up on details post meeting * Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business * Serve as a positive liaison between supervisor, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companiesNon-Essential Functions * Office phone coverage as needed * Maintaining professional image of workspace and office * Other duties as assignedJoin us in making a meaningful impact on our community and advancing a deeper appreciation for agriculture among its residents!This position is an employee of Lucas County Farm Bureau.
