We are seeking a Hospitalist Physician for a locum tenens position in Suffolk, Virginia. This opportunity involves covering the night shift from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with a flexible call schedule. The physician will primarily manage adult patient admissions, handle floor calls, and ensure smooth overnight operations at the hospital. The position does not require in-house codes or rounding; however, the nocturnist will be responsible for floor calls and admissions during their shift. The average number of patient admissions is 8-12 per shift, with the closed medical ICU being managed by Intensivists (24-hour coverage). The total patient census runs at approximately 88, and there will be 7-10 admissions overnight, in addition to handling floor calls. The hospital has a well-structured system, with no rounding duties required for the locum physician. Qualifications: Board Certified in Internal Medicine Virginia Medical License Virginia DEA (required) ACLS and BLS Certification (required) Suffolk, Virginia, located within the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, offers a blend of historical charm and modern conveniences.
