A team of 3 founders from CMU/Duke/Stanford funded by the well known Y combinator program and Highland capital is looking for a team of 8 (or so) summer interns with backgrounds in CS/EE/Math/Stats or related disciplines. This is a chance to experience a super-early stage start-up, gain valuable connections and prototype the first company product release from the ground up! The are 5 main projects which have to be developed over a 10 week summer period. These projects include: 1. Data crawling -- project includes building a web crawler and designing techniques to scrape/store reliable/noise-free data. Experience with data analysis and processing is desirable. 2. Mobile Apps -- iPhone (objective-c) and Android (java) development including design of simple/intuitive user interfaces. Experience building mobile apps is desirable; especially ones' using the phone's camera. 3. Massive Data Set Analysis -- development of data mining techniques with emphasis on high dimensionality reduction and clustering. Ability to understand published research in this area is desirable. 4. Hyper Location -- project includes building sensor network to process location specific data. Expertise in circuit-design, audio processing, communication protocol design is desirable. 5. Object detection/tracking -- building a state of the art object detection/tracking prototype based on boosting algorithms. Prior exposure to machine learning techniques is desirable. In addition we will also be hiring one or two project managers/developers to facilitate the integration of the projects listed above. Experience working on large/complex software projects is required. Please apply with a resume or summary of accomplishments and relevant skills. Pay type is negotiable: contract work, hourly pay, summer stipend, part-time (min 20 hours/week) for Stanford students, etc ... 3. Chance to be involved in the business development aspects of the company and meet and connect with several VC investors (Our offices is provided to us by a VC firm). 4. Attend YC and Highland capital meetings and lecture series, dinners and other social events. Watch us present the final product for a crowd of 500 investors at the end of the summer. 5. Possibility of equity stake if you come aboard at the end of the summer.
